Coil Bench is assembled from 30 repeating vertical frames connected to form a vertebrae which can be swung around, circled up or shaken out into a multitude of shapes for sitting. The simple repeated shape that composes the piece suggests maneuverability, inviting the viewer to manipulate it instinctually. The experience of playing with the arrangement of Coil Bench is both a visual and an auditory experience, as the process of re-arrangement pairs with a clacking noise which in turn insights more exploration. The piece is supremely functional and its flexibility lends it appeal for a multitude of spaces.
